Exciting Fire Station 2 Update!

Peterborough Fire Station No. 2 is now fully powered by its 96 kilowatt rooftop solar array, one of several integrated systems that support the City’s first net zero energy, net zero carbon facility.

Together with geothermal heating and cooling, ultra-efficient lighting, and a high-performance envelope, the 96 kilowatt system is expected to reduce annual energy costs from about $25,000 to nearly zero. It's a model of fiscal and environmental stewardship, and a sign of what's possible when municipal infrastructure leads with purpose.
