Who Roanna is

Roanna is a dedicated professional with over 30 years of experience in accounting, administration, payroll, human resources, operations, and financial management. At Unity Design Studio, Roanna will continue to improve and develop in-house systems, processes, and reporting, to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Roanna is the proud Mom of one daughter and together with her, loves to travel, listen to music, cook, bake, and enjoy the family cottage. Roanna’s partner, his daughter, and three rescue catscomplete her family. By the lake, with a coffee and a good book is Roanna’s favourite place to be.

What Roanna Does

Responsible for studio finances and operations, Roanna also supports the studio team at all levels, to ensure harmony and adherence to established standards and procedures with alignment to organizational goals. Roanna brings over three decades of experience to her work, providing insightful, critical thinking skills to every challenge and opportunity. Valuing open and clear communication, Roanna works to ensure the studio culture is supportive, collaborative, and inclusive.

Excellent financial management and effective administrative practices are critical pillars of success, of which Roanna consistently strives to achieve. She finds success with a methodical approach to her work and a strong desire to see and understand the “big picture”,creating and maintaining sustainable processes with the ability to support company growth.

“I have chosen to support the Back Door Mission for the Relief of Poverty in Oshawa, Ontario as I have seen the amazing work they do for the community. This organization helps individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, as well as mental health and addiction concerns. The Back Door Mission is a drop-in centre that offers meals, washrooms, showers, clothing, and access to services and other agencies. Other services provided include medical care, shelter/income support, and a safe place for day-time sleep for unsheltered individuals. Under the umbrella of Mission United, the Back Door Mission has many community partners to help facilitate the services they provide. ”
